Masoom Kshetrimayum received her Post Diploma in Visual Arts (Painting) from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Vadodara, Gujarat in 2016.

Her work focuses on visual metaphor and the illusion of visible reality, evolving in response to the changes in her surroundings, life, and the events she encounters. She explores the relationship between disparate elements from her subconscious, often before she even recognizes them. She intentionally omits unnecessary details, instead using repetitive shapes and lines to fragment objects into emotional states and aesthetic consciousness. This process allows her to develop a blurred, hybrid visual that unfolds across stages of curiosity, reality, and desire.

As an abstract artist, Masoom’s work often takes the form of cityscapes and landscapes as metaphors for the shared human experience and the constant flux of life. She is fascinated by tracking patterns, colors, formations, and the essence of both real and virtual memories. The project is inspired by the unyielding force of the wind and the delicate, often overlooked movement of grasses as they bend, sway, and respond to nature’s forces. Through this, she aims to highlight the harmony between the seen and the unseen.

Color plays a central role in her work and interpretation. It is a source of comfort, never fear, and her selection is instinctive. She uses a wide range of colors—vibrant, subtle, and sometimes controlled—aware of how they speak differently when placed together and the relationships they create.

Through metaphorical depictions, she seeks to evoke empathy and appreciation for the subtle, often unnoticed interactions within the wilderness.
